Blacksmiths were common in the Ozarks in the 19th and early 20th Centuries. This blacksmith shop existed. They hammered out plow blades and wheel rims for the most part. I painted this from a reference photo right out of Ozarks history. It is part of a body of work I am creating for a solo exhibit at the SMAC Art Gallery in November. It is available for sale now, but is not available for shipping until the first week in December.
